Scott Weiland denies driving offence
The Velvet Revolver frontman says he's innocent
Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland has denied driving under the influence of drugs, for which he was arrested last month.
The singer, who has a history of drug-related problems, was involved in an accident on a California freeway on November 21.
He was arrested after an officer noticed he showed "signs of impairment" and failed sobriety tests, reports the Associated Press.
Weiland's publicist issued a statement today (December 4) denying the allegations.
"Scott was not driving under the influence of a drug, legal or illegal," the publicist said.
"He voluntarily took a breathalyzer test which the defense believes registers well within the legal limit. He is anxious to get to court...and clear this matter up."
Weiland is currently out on $40,000 bail and is due to appear in court on December 13.
