‘The Velvet Underground & Nico’ has been voted the greatest debut album of all time.
Originally released in 1967, 's debut narrowly beat Television’s ‘Marquee Moon’ and The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s ‘Are You Experienced’ to claim the top spot in Uncut’s list of the greatest debut albums of all time.
This month’s Uncut presents the top 100 compiled by the magazine.
Arcade Fire’s ‘Funeral’ bookends the list at number 100, Franz Ferdinand’s eponymous debut is placed at number 90 and The ’ ‘Up The Bracket’ is at number 78.
The most recent album in the list, Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’, is at number 36.
