WHY ARE THOU ROMEO?

Speculation is rife that Victoria and David's inspiration was the collective's Romeo...

WHY ARE THOU ROMEO?
Former SPICE GIRL VICTORIA BECKHAM gave birth to her second child, a boy named ROMEO, yesterday (September 1), and speculation is rife that the baby was named after SO SOLID CREW member ROMEO DUNN.

Victoria's husband, Manchester United and England footballing star David, is known to be a huge fan of garage music and So Solid Crew in particular.

Dunn spoke yesterday of his surprise that he may be source for the new arrival's name. He said he had never met the couple but knew of David's interest in garage music. He added that his name was a nickname, given him because he was "a hit with the ladies" at school.

"I think the young Beckham will probably be a hit with ladies too," he said.

Romeo was born at the private Portland Hospital in London yesterday morning. He weighed 7lb 4oz.

Explaining the name to waiting reporters, Beckham said:

"It's just a name we love... Brooklyn [the couple's first son] is just in awe of him. Brooklyn came in when Romeo came out - he absolutely adores him."
