Jerry Seinfeld to appear on Wale album
Comedian will collaborate with Wale on follow up to 2008 mixtape
The rapper first released his Seinfeld themed mixtape and also released a follow up mixtape, 'More About Nothing', in 2010. Having discovered the mixtapes through his wife, a Wale fan, Jerry Seinfeld has now agreed to help him record a full album.
Speaking in a video interview, which you can see below, Seinfeld said: "Wale called me, he came to my show, we hung out a little bit. He wanted me to do something with him. I didn't understand it. But he did. I listened to his music, I liked it" Talking about his wife being a fan of Wale, Seinfeld added: "We're living together, she's into him, he's into me, and I didn't know about the whole thing."
The US comedian, who created and starred in the iconic US sitcom between 1989-1998, also revealed that he once approached P.Diddy about working together. "I said to him, 'Hip hop's words, right? Why don't you take my words and do something with it?' I didn't know how to do it but I thought, 'Just take the words'."
Since releasing his Seinfeld mixtape in 2008, Wale has released a number of albums including 2009's 'Attention Deficit' and 'Ambition' in 2011. In recent years he has become an affiliate of Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group, appearing on the group's two 'Self Made' albums in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
