KRAMER VS JAMES, McKAGAN, COPELAND...

[a]Wayne Kramer[/a]'s new band The Racketeers features ex-members of The Damned, Guns N' Roses and The Police...

Wayne Kramer, ex-MC5 guitarist, has put together a new band, THE RACKETEERS, with former members of GUNS N' ROSES, BLONDIE, THE POLICE and THE DAMNED, and is set to release an album and tour the UK this winter.

The album, 'Mad For The Racket', is slated for release on November 6 through Track Records. They plan to tour the UK in the weeks around the release.

The record was written in the main by Kramer and former Damned man Brian James. Longtime friends, they began writting and recording initial sessions around six months ago. Kramer then approached Duff McKagan, the former Guns N' Roses bassist, and as a fan of the MC5, he agreed immediately.

Both Stewart Copeland of The Police and Blondie's Clem Burke are old friends of James and, as on the album, shall be picking up drumming duties on different tracks through the tour.
