We Are Scientists have started work on the follow-up to their 2005 debut album ‘With Love and Squalor’.

Speaking to NME.COM, singer Keith Murray revealed he started writing the record the day after coming off a 21-month long stint of touring.

He said: “The other members of the band are currently enjoying the sunny climes of Singapore and Utah, while I write every day in our rather dreary windowless, heatless practice space in Brooklyn.

There’s no set date yet, but I’d like to be recording by the end of spring. I’d like to do it in New York City but Michael (Tapper) is really into the idea of doing it in the Bahamas.”

In terms of music, Murray has a very specific idea of how he’d like it to sound

He disclosed: “It is going to mix the actual music of Editors with the actual lyrics of Arctic Monkeys and the three-part harmonies of the Eagles.”
