Weezer deny split

Weezer have declared they are not splitting up, despite comments made by singer Rivers Cuomo to the contrary.

On Weezer.com the band have posted a picture of band members Cuomo, Scott Shriner, Brian Bell together and told fans:

“Now please, take those 'Weezer split?' headlines and place them firmly into the 'Don't believe the hype' bin. And have yourself a fine afternoon now.”

As previously reported by NME.COM the band’s leader Cuomo announced the group were on hiatus, and suggested they had permanently split, after he said: “For the moment we are done. And I’m not certain we’ll ever make a record again, unless it becomes really obvious to me that we need to do one.”

There is currently no word as to what the band will do next.
