Weezer played the Main Stage at Leeds Festival this evening (August 28), performing covers of songs by MGMT, Lady Gaga and Wheatus as part of their show.

The band are set to release new album 'Hurley' on September 13 - but they only played one song from the LP at the Leeds site.

Frontman Rivers Cuomo was on jovial form for the gig, taking hats from crowd members and swinging around T-shirts he was offered by fans.

Opening with 'Hash Pipe', the singer/guitarist also showed off his football skills as he kicked a ball around the stage before jumping on a mini-trampoline during 'Undone - The Sweater Song'.

Shortly afterwards he sparked a huge singalong as he covered Wheatus' 2000 hit 'Teenage Dirtbag', singing the lyrics from a sheet of paper. Later, he pulled a fan out of the crowd to duet with him on 'My Name Is Jonas' before hugging another member of the audience.

The band also covered MGMT's 'Kids', with Cuomo donning a blonde wig as they performed a few bars of Lady Gaga's 'Poker Face'.

As they rounded off their set with 'Buddy Holly', he ran out of the stage door into the Main Stage field, sparking a mass rush of fans as he continued to perform the track.

Weezer played:

'Hash Pipe'
'Undone - The Sweater Song'
'Surf Wax America'
'Teenage Dirtbag'
'Say It Ain't So'
'Memories'
'Island In The Sun'
'My Name Is Jonas'
'Beverly Hills'
'Pork And Beans'
'Kids'/'Poker Face'
'I Want You Too'
'Buddy Holly'
