Weezer's Rivers Cuomo collaborates with Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino

Duo hook up 'to write a song' together

Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo has revealed details of a collaboration with Best Coast singer Bethany Cosentino.

Cuomo refrained from going into specifics about the collaboration, telling Triple J that he doesn't know how it will be released yet. He added that collaborating with other artists is something he intends to carry on doing.

"I definitely really enjoyed working with other musicians, other artists so I continued that process on [current Weezer album] 'Hurley'," he explained, before speaking about Cosentino. "I'm still doing it actually, tomorrow I'm getting together with the girl from Best Coast and we're going to write a song. You never know where these songs are going to end up but it could be on the next Weezer record."

'Hurley' features guest spots from Ryan Adams and actor Michael Cera.
