WESTLIFE'S WRONG NUMBER Westlife Tickets
Organisers deduct 1,000 votes from the Irish boy band...
Westlife have had 1,000 votes from their BRIT AWARDS nomination cancelled by organisers after it was discovered they came from just three phone lines.
The Irish boy band are up against Blue, Kylie Minogue, S Club 7 and Hear'Say in the 'Best Pop' category at this year's awards, with the eventual winner being decided via a public phone vote.
A spokesperson for the awards told NME.COM today (February 15) that the votes have been deducted from their total after just three lines recorded hundreds of votes each, sparking fears that the result could be considered unrepresentative.
She said: "It looks like some obsessive fans who have made all the calls. We took them out of the equation to make the result fair and representative."
This year's Brit Awards take place at Earl's Court in London this Wednesday (February 20).
