Westlife are Number One

They hold off U2 and Green Day's collaboration

Westlife are Number One

Westlife have beaten U2 and Green Day to the Number One spot in the UK singles chart tonight (November 12).

The Irish boyband shot straight in with their new single 'The Rose' to claim their 14th chart topper.

U2 and Green Day went up four places to Number Two after their Skids cover 'The Saints Are Coming' went in at Six on downloads alone last week.

All Saints moved eight places to Number Three with their comeback single 'Rock Steady', Sugababes jumped a massive 22 places to Number Eight with new single 'Easy' and Madonna is straight in at Nine with 'Jump'.

Elsewhere there are new entries for Kasabian with 'Shoot The Runner' at 17, Justin Timberlake with 'My Love' at 14, Paul Weller with 'Wild Blue Yonder' at 22, Robbie Williams with 'Lovelight' at 28 and Snow Patrol's collaboration with Martha Wainwright, 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar' at 37.

The Top Ten is:

1. Westlife - 'The Rose'
2. U2 & Green Day - 'The Saints Are Coming'
3. All Saints - 'Rock Steady'
4. Fedde Le Grand - 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit'
5. Beyonce - 'Irreplaceable'
6. Bodyrox ft Luciana - 'Yeah Yeah'
7. Girls Aloud - 'Something Kinda Ooooh'
8. Sugababes - 'Easy'
9. Madonna - 'Jump'
10. My Chemical Romance - 'Welcome To The Black Parade'


In the Album Chart, Girls Aloud's singles compilation 'The Sound Of', has been pushed down to Number Three after Jamiroquai's greatest hits collection 'High Times' went straight in at Number One.

Paul Weller is in at Number Seven with his singles collection 'Hit Parade' and The Magic Numbers are in at Number 11 with their new album 'Those The Brokes'.
