The band prepare for full album with 11 minute summer release

The have confirmed a release date for their limited edition mini-opera.

The band will release an 11-minute mini-album ’Wire & Glass’ on July 10, to precede their full length return in October.

As previously reported on NME.COM, guitarist Pete Townshend has revealed that the band have returned to the rock opera territory, recalling their 1969 album ‘Tommy’

’Wire & Glass’ is billed as one song, but is split into the following six parts:

‘Sound Round’
‘Pick Up The Peace’
‘Endless Wire’
‘We Got A Hit’
‘They Made My Dreams Come True’
‘Mirror Door’

The song is set to be part of a “longer mini-opera” on The forthcoming full album.

The group’s surviving members Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey are currently completing their first studio record in 24 years.

Is this the mini opera that is shown on "The Kids Are Alright" documentary shown on Sky channel 256?

Just watched "the kids are alright" documentary on sky channel 256.I was around when the Who started and they were regulars in Portsmouth where I spent my early years. I believe I went to most of their gigs there.I don't ever remember them performing this, which doesn't mean they didn't, but having heard it today (again?????), I have to have the CD. It is without doubt some of their best. Thanks to all. Keith.
