Former Wilco member sues Jeff Tweedy Wilco Tickets

Jay Bennett says he is owed money

Former Wilco member Jay Bennett is suing the band’s singer Jeff Tweedy, claiming he is owed royalties for songs, as well as his part in a 2002 documentary about the band.

Bennett was a member of the band from 1994 to 2001, and played various instruments on the albums 'Being There', 'Summerteeth', 'Mermaid Avenue', 'Mermaid Avenue Vol. II' and 'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot'.

Bennett is claiming at least $50,000 in damages, and says that he was not paid for appearing in the documentary 'I Am Trying To Break Your Heart'. He also said he did not sign a release form to appear.

Bennett is arguing that he is entitled to continuing royalty payments for work he carried out during his time in the band.
