Wilder: ‘Julian Casablancas stole our fashion sense!’ – video

Emerge NME Radar band accuse Strokes singer of feather plagiarism

Wilder have accused their former touring partner Julian Casablancas of pilfering their fashion sense.

The Bristol band are set to play on the Emerge NME Radar Tour at London‘s KOKO on Thursday (October 14). Bassist Joe Blaze has told NME about the time they were on tour with The Strokes frontman in a new video (watch it on the right now).

“We were on tour with Julian Casablancas, that was cool,” he said. “He was too cool for school, he didn’t give us the time of day.”

He added: “Apart from the one fact – he came into our dressing room, went over to Jay [Bond, keyboard player] and had a fondle with his hair, ‘cos Jay‘s got feathers in his hair. And [he] was like, ‘I like this, I’m going to steal this’. And a few months later in a video he came out with feathers in his hair – that’s a Wilder original, Julian…”

Wilder join The Joy Formidable, Chapel Club and Flats on Thursday on the Emerge NME Radar Tour in London.
