Will.i.am is reportedly counter-suing Pharrell Williams.

The Voice UK coach is said to have filed a lawsuit against the singer over his 'i am OTHER' YouTube channel. The suit comes after Pharrell filed a lawsuit against Will.i.am earlier this year, asking the judge to protect his right to use the 'I Am' moniker.

According to TMZ, Will.i.am's countersuit claims that Pharrell's brand is too similar to his own 'i.am+' brand and that the singer has a long history of copying others.

The lawsuit notes that Pharrell is currently being sued by Marvin Gaye's family for allegedly ripping off 'Got To Give It Up' in Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines'. Bizarrely, the suit also claims Pharrell tried to trademark Pink Slime, which was similar to Slime owned by toy manufacturer Mattel.

Will.i.am has previously denied reports that he was suing Pharrell for the use of "I Am", saying that he "has done what any trademark owner must do to protect and maintain a trademark", through his lawyer, Ken Hertz. "We think their proposed trademark is too close to our registered and common law trademarks. They disagree. We hope to work out a sensible compromise that will allow both parties to move forward without unnecessary acrimony."
