ORBIT TO BE JEN'S 'JOURNEY'-MAN

[a]Madonna[/a] and [a]Blur[/a]'s knob-twiddler gets to work on making sweet music with the Latin beauty...

William Orbit is to write and record the first single for Jennifer Lopez's next solo album, 'PASSIONATE JOURNEY'.

The album is expected in the UK on November 6 through Epic. A spokesperson for William Orbit told nme.com that the pair had only "recently started" recording the single, which is provisionally slated for release on October 23, also through Epic. It is anticipated that the recording of the track will take place at Orbit's studio in LA.

Orbit, who has also worked with Madonna and Blur, is in the process of recording his own new solo album, which is expected sometime next year.

In other Lopez news, there are reports that she has split with boyfriend Puff Daddy after over a year together. The Radio 1 website, www.bbc.co.uk/radio1, quotes a US newspaper report, which claims the pair, who have rarely been seen out in public together recently, have now gone their separate ways.
