Willis Earl Beal was arrested and detained in the Netherlands over the weekend, after he allegedly kicked a homeless man in the face.

The singer, who released his debut album 'Acousmatic Sorcery' earlier this year, was performing at Le Guess Who? festival in Utrecht on Saturday (May 27) and apparently became annoyed when one crowd member persistently hassled him.

Then, according to RTVUtrecht, the singer got so annoyed by the man's attentions that he kicked him in the face. He was arrested afterwards.

A fan-shot YouTube clip shows Beal ending set early and discussing his altercation. The clip, which you can see by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking, shows him saying : "Because of a few bad apples, we all miss out on one more glorious, fantastic, lovely performance. I love you, and I even love the guy whose face I kicked in. I love him, too. He’s a good guy! He’s just drunk, a little."

A spokesman for Beal told NME that the singer was released without charge yesterday (May 27).
