Willy Mason performs in fan's living room

Willy Mason played an unusual gig in a fan’s living room earlier this week (February 4).

The US folk singer performed a solo set in fan Anna Marie Campbell’s lounge in Ealing, west London, to a crowd of around 40 people who won the right to be there as part of an NME.COM competition.

Speaking afterwards, Campbell said the singer made the perfect house guest.

“It was amazing, the atmosphere was so good, everyone loved it and you could tell he loved it too," she said. "There was nothing forced about it.”

Mason treated the crowd to a mammoth set, performing the majority of his debut album ‘Where The Humans Eat’ plus his forthcoming follow-up ‘If The Ocean Gets Rough’.

Campbell added: “He played two sets, about 40 minutes the first time, then he had a break and then he played again.

“It was so exciting, but quite overwhelming. He was great fun - he stuck around and we had a little party after.”
