FLIGHT CLUB

But will it outsell The Beatles' '1'? No, probably not...

A double CD featuring WINGS' greatest hits is to be released in May to coincide with a two-hour film about the band.

Described as a Beatles 'Anthology'-style project, the film will feature previously unseen footage of Paul and Linda McCartney at home, band archive and rare tour and concert film.

The documentary, which will premiere on US TV and is expected to be shown on terrestrial TV in the UK and shown around the world, will also delve into how McCartney overcame the trauma of the Beatles' split and subsequent legal wranglings, and his imprisonment in Tokyo for possession of drugs.

A spokesperson for McCartney said that director Alistair Donald had trawled the world exhaustively to amass footage for the documentary.

The double CD will contain 40 Wings songs, and videos and promo films are expected to be re-released to accompany its release through EMI/Capitol in May.
