The Emerge NME Radar Tour rolled into Glasgow last night (October 10) to help the city's King Tut's Wah Wah Hut celebrate being crowned Britain's Best Small Venue.

Wolf Gang, S.C.U.M and Niki And The Dove all took to the stage at the legendary venue, which was bestowed with NME's gong back in June.

First up, Niki And The Dove blazed through their mysterious, gothic-tinged rock, with singer Malin Dahlström speaking of her affection for the Scottish city.

She said:

Gothenburg is very like Glasgow. They are like brother and sister.

Next up, S.C.U.M played a crowd-pleasing set which saw singer Thomas Cohen take umbrage with the venue's 'no stage diving' signs.

"Never be told what you can and cannot do by something typed on a computer," he declared.

Meanwhile, headliners Wolf Gang were keen to emulate the greats who had passed through the venue down the years – which has includes the likes of Oasis, Manic Street Preachers, Biffy Clyro and Radiohead.

"It's amazing to know that we have shared the same stage as all those great bands that have played here through the years," said singer Max McElligott.

It was a headline set fit for the renowned Glasgow venue, which opened its doors 1990, as the band played tracks from the brilliant 'Suego Faults' as well as two new songs.

Wolf Gang played:

'Dancing With The Devil'
'Something Unusual'
'King And All Of His Men'
'Nightflying'
'Where Are You Now?'
'Suego Faults'
'Back To Back'
'The Kill'
'Midnight Dancers'
'Stay & Defend'
'Into The Fire'
'Lions In Cages'

Afterwards, NME caught up with King Tuts' promoter, Dave McGeachan, to uncover the secret behind the venue's success. He said: "I think what has made it successful over the years is the booking policy – we have always had a great mixture of acts."

The Emerge NME Radar Tour continues at Leeds Cockpit tomorrow (12) before wrapping up at London KOKO next week (18).
