LET THE WOOKIE IN!

Rising UK Garage star Wookie has just been announced as a last minute guest on the RADIO 1 OUTDOOR STAGE at CREAMFIELDS 2000.

The Soul II Soul protigi will be playing a live set, and joins a stage which will also see live sets from All Saints and Artful Dodger, as well as DJ sets from Judge Jules, Pete Tong and Seb Fontaine. "Garage is currently kicking out of the underground and finding a firm place on the commercial stage," explained a spokesman for the club. "Wookie is seen as one of the main players in the crusade to take this UK scene to the world."

Wookie (real name Jason Chue) has been producing at the Soul II Soul studios in London for the last three years. His recent covers of Marvin Gaye's 'What's Goin' On' and his mentor's 'Back To Life' made him one of the hottest names on the underground scene. However, helped along by it's enormous popularity in Ayia Napa this year, the single 'Battle' recently made it into the Top Ten. He has a debut album due in late October.

Creamfields takes place at the Old Speke Airfield in Liverpool on August 26th. For more information, visit www.cream.co.uk.
