Wretch 32 has made his acting debut, appearing in a scene in Hollyoaks.

The chart-topping rapper filmed the cameo at a London gig earlier this week, stopping the show to surprise fans with his thespian turn.

Regular characters Bart McQueen (Jonny Clarke), Sinead O'Connor (Stephanie Davis), Tilly Evans (Lucy Dixon) and Martin 'Jono' Johnson (Dylan Llewllyn) also appeared in the scene.

Wretch told The Sun that his lack of acting experience meant he had to "style it out". He said:
No-one had any idea, there were a lot of priceless looks. I've only ever acted in school so I couldn't really ask for tips or the stars would have laughed at me.

It's not the first time a star from the music world has aligned themselves with the duff Channel 4 soap – bands such as The Courteeners and The Guillemots[/b] appeared on spin-off The Hollyoaks Music Show back in 2008.

Meanwhile, [a]Wretch 32 has gigs in Liverpool and London lined up for next month, before supporting Example on his UK arena tour in April 2012.
