Rap collective plan to breathe new life in hip-hop

Wu Tang Clan have revealed further details of their forthcoming comeback album.

As previously reported on NME.COM, the hip-hop legends signed up for a one album deal at the end of 2006.

Now band member RZA has confirmed that the band will release a new LP entitled '8 Diagram' in the US later this summer through SRC Records.

He added: "People want something that gives them an adrenaline rush. We're here to supply that fix. How could hip-hop be dead if Wu Tang is forever? We're here to revive the spirit and the economics and bring in a wave of energy that has lately dissipated."

The release is expected to feature unreleased material from the late Ol' Dirty Bastard and a tribute track called 'Life Changes', reports Billboard.

The collective are also planning to tour later this year, although no dates have yet been announced.

Before that the band will release a rarities collection in the US on February 6 entitled 'Wu Tang Clan & Friends - Unreleased'.
