Rap group celebrate 20th anniversary this November

Method Man has said that a Wu-Tang Clan anniversary album will be released later this year.

As Billboard reports, the rapper told fans at the Key Club in Los Angeles last week (March 1) that the hip-hop group plan on celebrating their 20th anniversary this November with a special release which they are currently working on.

Although he didn’t reveal any specifics about the record, he said: “November 10 of this year will be our 20th anniversary. We got the Wu-Tang anniversary album coming up, we working on that now. We got some nice treats on there.”

Wu-Tang Clan released their classic debut album ‘Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)’ in November 1993. In October of last year, the band’s RZA said he was eager to to reunite the group to celebrate its 20th anniversary of their classic debut album – and that he also wanted them to be more professional. “We need to, one time, completely, efficiently, properly, professionally represent our brand,” he said. “One more time. But this time, showing up on time for press and for concerts and studio. Do it one time, perfect.”

“We did good – people love it and I’m proud of what we’ve done,” he added. “But all that was done – I would always say in my old interviews, ‘This is organised confusion.’ It was kept and contained, but it was a lot of chaos.”
