Yeah Yeah Yeahs have cancelled their European tour - including dates at the CARLING WEEKEND.

The New York group were due to visit Europe this month prior to the release of their as-yet-untitled album later this year. The tour was set to include an eagerly awaited show at the Carling Weekend in Reading and Leeds (August 24-25).

However, "time-constraints" and "other unexpected occurrences" mean the band will remain in the US to finish their album.

A statement issued by the band reads: "The Yeah Yeah Yeahs’s are humbled to announce that the time-constraints of recording their first album and other unexpected occurrences have made it impossible for them to perform in the UK and Europe in August.

"We promise to make it up to the fans and the promoters as soon as possible. We sincerely apologise for the late notice; it is one of the perils of recording DIY."
