Yeah Yeah Yeahs are close to finishing work on their second album and hope to release it at the beginning of 2006.
As previously reported on NME.COM, the trio have been busy working on the follow-up to 2003’s ‘Fever To Tell’, with guitarist Nick Zinner travelling to London to mix tracks for the record.
"We're pretty much done,” he revealed. “We're done recording, basically. I went to London with half of the mixes. I'm going to go back in a couple of weeks to finish it up.”
Zinner explained: “Then it's just a matter of picking and choosing, and all the other things you have to think about when putting out a record, which I don't really want to think about right now."
When asked when the album would be released, the guitarist revealed "definitely early next year", Pitchfork reports.
As well as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs LP, Zinner has also found time to record an album with his new side project Head Wound City, which sees him collaborate with members of Blood Brothers and The Locust.
Their self-titled EP will be released through Three One G, and features seven songs in just nine minutes and 41 seconds.
The tracklisting is:
‘Radical Friends’
‘I'm a Taxidermist-- I'll Stuff Anything’
‘Prick Class’
‘Street College’
‘New Soak for an Empty Pocket’
‘Thrash Zoo’
‘Michael J. Fux’ featuring Gnarles in Charge
