Yeah Yeah Yeahs release giant eyeball into Glastonbury crowd

Karen O and co play flamboyant Other Stage show

Yeah Yeah Yeahs played a flamboyant afternoon show at Glastonbury today (June 28), during which they released a huge inflatable eyeball into the crowd.

They also dedicated a song to the late Michael Jackson.

The New Yorkers, led by singer Karen O, played a set on the Other Stage heavy on songs from their recent third album 'It's Blitz!' but also included older favourites such as 'Art Star'.

O was wearing typically impressive attire, taking to the stage to play opener 'Runaway' wearing a large colourful shawl and headdress and a pair of green tights.

For 'Art Star', the singer covered her face with a black shroud and sang through the fabric, peeling off the shroud to scream the song's frenetic chorus.

The following 'Gold Lion' was greeted with huge cheers as the crowd recognised drummer Brian Chase's distinctive drum intro from the off.

'Zero', up next, saw O take the "Get your leather on" lyric literally - donning her personalised leather jacket featuring "KO" emblasoned on the back in studs. Towards the end of the song a huge inflatable eyeball prop was released into the crowd, much to their delight.

"This is a Yeah Yeah Yeahs summer love song!" O declared before playing 'Maps'. "We'd like to dedicate this song to Michael Jackson," she added.

They ended the set with a rapturous performance of 2003 single 'Date With The Night'.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs played:

'Runaway'
'Dull Life'
'Honey Bear'
'Art Star'
'Gold Lion'
'Zero'
'Turn Into'
'Skeletons'
'Soft Shock'
'Cheated Hearts'
'Maps'
'Heads Will Roll'
'Date With The Night'
