Yeah Yeah Yeahs dedicate 'Maps' to 'lovers' at Leeds Festival

Yeah Yeah Yeahs dedicated their show at Leeds Festival today (Augusy 29) to all "you lovers" in the audience from the Main Stage at Bramham Park.

The New Yorkers, led by singer Karen O, who arrived onstage dressed in a flamboyant multi-coloured costume with tassles hanging off her legs, played a set which drew heavily from their 2009 album 'It's Blitz!'.

Unlike their recent festival shows, the band chose not to hang a huge inflatable eye from the stage. But O was no less enigmatic as she wrapped herself with a colourful shawl for 'Skeletons' and donned her personalised leather jacket featuring 'KO' emblazoned on the back in studs.

She said very little throughout the set until she played 'Maps', when she told the crowd: "This is the third time we have played Leeds and I want to dedicate this song to all you lovers at Leeds."

As they rounded off with 'Date With The Night', O screamed: "Thank you Leeds, we have been Yeah Yeah Yeahs and we fucking love you, good night."
