Yeasayer to play last minute show at London's Lexington tonight (July 12)

The Brooklyn trio also played a sold-out gig at the venue last night (July 11)

Yeasayer are set to play a last-minute, secret gig at London venue, The Lexington tonight (July 12).

The gig will be their second in a row at the space, following a sold-out set last night (July 11), and will be ticketed on a first-come, first-served basis on the door.

Last night, the band played an 80-minute set, drawing heavily from their forthcoming third album 'Fragrant World' - which is set for release on August 20.

Kicking off with new track 'Don't Come Close', the band then moved through a career-spanning selection of tracks including 'Madder Red', 'ONE' and their new record's dubstep-tinged title track 'Fragrant World', which they played against a backdrop of silver discs and an elaborate lightshow.

The trio closed the main body of the set with 'Ambling Alp' before re-emerging for a short encore of 'Tight Rope' and the bass-heavy 'Folk Hero Schtick' - which saw vocalist Chris Keating descending into the crowd to dance.

Speaking before the gig, the band were enthusiastic about the night, with Keating stating that "it'll be like the old days". He added: "We've never played there before, but we've hung out a lot downstairs and at gigs and it's a nice, small venue. I like gigs like that."
