ONO! OH YES!

The veteran star tops the US chart with a song celebrating gay marriage...

ONO! OH YES!

Yoko Ono has hit the top spot on the BILLBOARD dance chart with a song she wrote over 25 years ago.

The track, ‘Every Man Has A Man Who Loves Him’, is a new version of the song ‘Every Man Has A Woman Who Loves Him’, which originally appeared on the ‘Double Fantasy’ album. The song has been rewritten about gay marriage.

This is the second time that a href=http://www.nme.com/artists/64983.htm>Ono has topped the charts, reaching the Number One spot in the dance charts last year with ‘Walking On Thin Ice’.

The track has a companion piece entitled ‘Every Woman Has A Woman Who Loves Her’. She is also working on a new version of ‘Give Peace A Chance’ set for a future release.

On hearing about the single reaching Number One, Yoko Ono said; "It's nice to know that so many people love this song. This is a victory not just for me but for all Americans who are against the administration's decision to ban gay marriage. Thank you all."
