Ono in Lennon royalties battle

She files lawsuits against two major record companies

Yoko Ono is suing two record companies in a royalties battle over John Lennon's records.

The late 's widow has filed lawsuits totalling $10m (£5.35m) against EMI and its subsidiary Capitol Records for "willfully and knowingly under-reporting royalties".

Ono also claims the two companies hid the "true use and disposition of Lennon's recordings" and they "intentionally and systematically rendered dishonest and grossly deficient accounting statements", reports BBC NEWS.

EMI/Capitol spokewoman Jeanne Myer refused to comment on the case and added that there are "sometimes differences of opinion" on royalties.
