Yoko Ono to judge Twitter haiku competition

Competition starts today (May 18) in conjunction with London train stations

Yoko Ono is to judge to world's first interactive haiku competition.

Starting today (May 18), people visiting London's King's Cross station will be encouraged to submit short poems on the subject of the British summer via their Twitter account.

A display board at the station will show the best comments within minutes of them being sent, reports The Independent. The poetic Tweets will also be presented at the King's Place arts centre next to the station.

Ono, along with poet Jackie Kay, will judge the competition, with the overall winner given free entry for two to King's Place's 'Words On Monday' events throughout 2009.

The competition runs until May 22.

Entrants are asked to Tweet their #haiku to @kingsplace.
