E-types on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk 1965 video

The E-types won first place at the KLIV Radio Battle of the Bands on that hot August afternoon. The performance was shot on a regular 8 mm home camera by Danny Monigold's wife Betty. There was no sound at that time, "I Can't Do it" was added at a later date. The song was written by Larry Hosford who can be seen in the crowd and also at the end of the film driving the E-types equipment trailer off into the sunset. Those were the days! Bob Wence, Jody Wence, Don Shephard, Danny Monigold & Reg Shaffer.. E-Type Trivia: About 60% into the clip a photographer kneels on one knee next to Bob. As Bob looks down, he takes the shot...that photo was the one used on the cover of their Sundazed Music CD "Introducing the E-Types".
