Catalonia is currently in a independence process but sadly our galician comrades and brothers have it more difficult. Basques will start their independence process soon.Galicia was united with portugal ( even there is a very small movement that wants annexation to portugal, and is believed that galician language is still speaked in some parts of northern portugal, together with the mirandese, closely related to leonese language but that has always been speaked only in the north of portugal and their inhabitants feel portuguese. Mirandese is co-oficial language in all portugal now (at national level) but it's only compulsory to study and learn it in Miranda do Douro region.
