Guqin - Spring Thought 春思. From Xilutang Qintong (1549) video

Guqin piece. This dapu (reconstruction) is of the entire composition. The tempo is based in large part on an abridged version of this tune originally performed by Professor Chen Changlin. The music - Spring Thought - is from the Ming dynasty Xilutang Qintong (Western Hills Pavilion Qin Compendium), published in 1549. The theme is based on a spring landscape view including flora and fauna both coming to life. For example, the 1st section title is: "Butterflies fly down to the clustered flowers." Played on the guqin: 龍吟。See John Thompson's most excellent web page for more information: www.silkqin.com The t-shirt can be found via a google search: site:cafepress.com i love guqin
