Morning, Noon and Night in Vienna is an overture written for a genre of music called Viennese Operetta, humorous plays with songs interspersed. The overture didnt necessarily relate to the opera; rather, its purpose was to get the attention of the audience and to quiet the house. Von Suppe is best known for his Light Cavalry Overture and the operetta Boccaccio, and is generally regarded as one of the founders of the Viennese operetta school
