Ave Maria by Bach-Gounod sung by the Maltese Soprano, Rosabelle Pavia. Accompanying her on the harp is Jacob Portelli and on the violin, Alex Abela. Rosabelle, who lives on the island of Gozo, is a well known Soprano and she is also an actress. She's also asked to sing in many wedding ceremonies. The Bach/Gounod Ave Maria is a popular and much-recorded setting of the Latin text Ave Maria. Written by French Romantic composer Charles Gounod in 1859, his Ave Maria consists of a melody superimposed over the Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, from Book I of The Well-Tempered Clavier, written by JS Bach some 137 years earlier. There are many different instrumental arrangements of the Bach/Gounod Ave Maria, including for violin and guitar, string quartet, piano solo, cello, and even trombones. It is often performed in Christian wedding ceremonies. Pop and opera singers, such as Luciano Pavarotti, as well as choirs have recorded it hundreds of times during the twentieth century. Later in his career, Gounod also composed a setting of Ave Maria for a four-part SATB choir, which is musically unrelated to the more well-known solo version. ----------------------------------------------------------- Our Youtube Channels are: MYCHOICE MUSIC VIDEOS mychoicegrech1 Youtube Channel: www.youtube.com mychoicealfred2 Youtube Channel www.youtube.com mychoicealfred3 Youtube Channel www.youtube.com mychoicealfred4 Youtube Channel www.youtube.com mychoicealfred5 Youtube Channel www.youtube.com ...
