Dion & The Belmonts - Where Or When video

Dion Dimucci's time with the Belmonts was brief, but during this period of his career, he and the Belmonts had two Top Ten singles, "A Teenager In Love" and this recording from January of 1960. Dion and The Belmonts were part of the ill-fated "Winter Tour" that saw the deaths of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and JP Richardson (Big Boppper). Only Dion's lack of finances prevented his being on the plane that killed the three rock stars. The easy-listening nature of songs like this in which the Belmonts specialized was one of the reasons Dion sought a solo career as more of "rock and roll" artist, and later in 1960 he did leave the group and continued a career which led him to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
