Messiaen: Le Merle Noir for flute and piano (1952) w/ score video

Messiaen's "Le Merle Noir" (The Blackbird) for flute and piano. This is one of the first of his pieces to be inspired so extensively by bird song, and culminates in a final section in which the flute plays a transcription of the blackbird's song against a piano part determined with serial techniques. Played here by Daniel Pailthorpe on flute and Stephen De Pledge on piano. This is a reupload as youtube idiotically messed up the score/audio synching on the first try (and then did other idiotic things with subsequent tries)...hopefully all will go well this time.
