Beverly Dobrinsky sings an extremely beautiful and haunting Ukrainian folk song about suffering, accompanying herself on the hurdy gudry. She sings a bilingual version in Ukrainian and English. The song was presented as part of the panel "Memory Everlasting: Post-Peasant Cultural Sensibilities from the Canadian Prairies: the Art and Vision of the 3rd Generation" which took place at Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops, September 15, 2007. It was part of the "'Last Best West' or Just Like the Rest" conference on Western Canadian Identity. "Where ever I go, there is trouble everywhere, where ever I go there is no good anywhere." Beverly Dobrinsky is the leader of the Slavic soul ensemble Zeellia: www.zeellia.com.
