Anne Sofie Von Otter - L'ÃŽle Inconnue video

Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie Von Otter, a very versatile classical artist indeed, singing Hector Berlioz's song L'Île Inconnue, a part of Les Nuits D'Été, Op.7. The cycle was composed in 1841 as a setting of six poems by Théophile Gautier. Originally scored for mezzo-soprano (or contralto) and piano, it was adapted for full orchestra in 1856. BBC Proms 22 concert given on 29.07.2007. and broadcast on BBC4. Les Musiciens du Louvre-Grenoble conduced by my favourite conductor, the one and only Marc Minkowski. Subscribe! Subscribe!
