Speech from the Dock-Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem 5/11 video

Chicago PBS July 1962 Quote from Liam Clancy, www.liamclancy.com "That's Robert Emmet's famous "Speech from the Dock". Robert Emmet was the eloquent leader of the United Irishmen who led an unsuccessful uprising in Dublin against British rule in Ireland in 1803. He was 25 years old when he was convicted of high treason and sentenced to death. When asked in court if he had anything to say before the sentence was passed he made that incredible speech - impromptu! It was delivered to a stunned courtroom on September 19, 1803 and has since been included in every collection of great speeches of the world."
