9. Afrojack. Not the guy who sang about getting high (that was Afroman), the Dutch DJ earned $9m (£5.8m). He's dating Paris Hilton, who's apparently not short of a few bob, either.

8. Kaskade. The Chicago-born DJ and producer recently became the first DJ to sell out the enormo-sized Staples Centre in Los Angeles. He earned a total of $10m (£6.5m) last year.

7. DJ Pauly D. He's probably a mystery to anyone not hooked on US reality show Jersey Shore, but TV fame made Pauly D a pretty packet last year: $11m (£7.1m).
