Take That When the Robbie-less band finally split in 1996, a helpline was set up for their distressed, possibly suicidal fans. You can bet that didn’t happen when Limp Bizkit called it a day. What, they're still going?! Oh....

All Saints Legend has it that the breaking point in the two All Saints camps ( Appleton-Appleton/Blatt-Lewis) came when two of the band mates wanted to wear the same jacket for a fashion shoot. It was a Camo one, right?

NWA Despite having written a large chunk of ‘Straight Outta Compton’ (he wrote both Dre and Easy-E’s rhymes), Ice Cube believed that he did not get a fair cut of the NWA royalties. He sparred with managed Jerry Heller before quitting the band. Proving that life ain't nothing but bitches and money (but mainly money).

Sugababes Following a period of being ‘frozen out’ of the group when bandmates Keisha Buchanan and Mutya Buena conversed in their own special language, Siobhan Donaghy did a bunk during a Japanese press trip, jumping out of a loo window and quitting the band.

The Police The writing was on the wall (or in this case drumkit) for this always mardy trio when beat keeper Stewart Copeland wrote “fuck off you cunt” on his drum riser, in reference to his lute-loving singer. Tension, what tension?

Oasis When Oasis finally closed shop in 2009 it was allegedly due to the fact that Liam wanted to feature an advert for his fashion company Pretty Green in the programme for the Oasis show. A fight ensued and the band's "SUNSHIIIIIIIIIINE" was no more.

TLC Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes had distanced herself from Chilli and T-Boz by the time their third album ‘FanMail’ was released in 1999 releasing a vaguely worded statement that suggested “creative differences”. Despite contributing to fourth album ‘3D’, Lopes’ death in 2002 marked the end of the band as we knew them.

Led Zeppelin In 1980 John Bonham collapsed on stage with the band’s management rather bizarrely claiming that this was as a result of “overeating”. He survived before finally ascending to the venue in the sky after choking on his own vomit after presumably doing more than “overeating”.

The Civil Wars Despite winning a Grammy, the two members of country-folk duo The Civil Wars split in 2012 (or, to use their term, “indefinite hiatus”) because of “internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition.” Sounds like it wasn’t just about a jacket this time.

Rilo Kiley It was perhaps just a matter of time before Jenny Lewis and Blake Sennett would be able to keep Rilo Kiley together after they split as a couple. Still it was a shock when Sennett announced that the band had broken up in an interview, citing: “deception, disloyalty and greed,” as the reasons. Yikes.

The Teardrop Explodes The infamously fractious band hit a point of no return whilst recording their third album. Things reached breaking point after David Balfe locked Julian Cope and Gary Dwyer out of the studio which then (obviously!) resulted in Dwyer chasing Balfe across the countryside with a loaded gun. The drugs don’t work, kids.
