Following overlooked 2011 solo debut 'Past Life Martyred Saints' (an overlooked gem), EMA is also back this month, with new album 'The Future's Void' also released on April 7. It's likely to be a dystopian no-wave trip, if scaremongering song titles like 'Cthulu', 'Neuromancer' and 'Dead Celebrity' are anything to go on.

Here's all you need to know about Protomartyr: they're from ashen, decaying Detroit and make music to match it; their frontman looks like an investment banker who's lost it all and gone feral; and most importantly, their debut 'Under Color of Official Right', out April 7, could just be one of the year's most thrilling breakthrough albums. Expect post-punk at its most punishing.

SOHN's debut album is either going to see him become the next James Blake or this year's Jamie Woon. In other words, it'll either launch him into the stratosphere as an icy electro brooder whose songwriting casts an enigmatic spell, or his recent buzz will fade and he'll slope into the shadows as a producer for other artists. We'll find out after April 7, when 'Tremors' is released.

We've already heard four hot jams from 'The New Classic', the long-awaited follow-up to Iggy Azalea's debut album 'Glory'. Another first solo album from an artist who's been around for over a couple of decades. Damon Albarn's 'Everyday Robots' is an introspective, personal listen with a couple of high-spirited moments. It's beautifully crafted, with production Richard 'XL' Russell and it's been a constant on the NME stereo for a while.
