Coldplay unveiled new tracks in Austin, Texas yesterday, treating a SXSW crowd to previously unheard songs from their upcoming sixth album ‘Ghost Stories’. Here’s the best of the images from last night’s low key performance – so low key in fact that Chris Martin and co didn’t even bother dressing up in their usual regal stagewear.
The band played an 11-song set at the Moody Theatre as part of the five night long iTunes Festival, kicking off with new song ‘Always In My Head’, the opening track on their hotly anticipated new record. The band also played new single ‘Magic’ and well as unveiling ‘Ghost Stories’ track ‘Another’s Arms’, closing the evening with the Jon Hopkins-produced ‘Midnight’.

“Thank you guys for giving us such a warm welcome back,” stated Martin after ‘Fix You’, with the band returning for an encore of the electronic-driven ‘Midnight’, which saw Martin sitting on the edge of the stage, while bassist Guy Berryman played what appeared to be some sort of rainbow light-activated theremin.
