During the set Simon Neil climbed onto a specially-built staircase to perform 'Who's Got A Match'. A camera inside his microphone transmitted onto the big screens.

The band skirted disaster when, during the solo opening of 'Sounds Like Balloons', Simon Neil's microphone and guitar cut out leaving the Main Stage completely silent. When the sound returned, there was a huge cheer from the massive crowd.

Stepping out towards the crowd and into the pouring rain – and getting soaked in the process – Neil said to the audience: "The rain can suck a dick, music is more powerful than nature."

Elsewhere in the set, Simon Neil apologised for the fact Biffy Clyro haven't played Leeds Festival since 2010, promising: "Three years is too long, whether you like it or not, we're going to be back."
