One of the most anticipated sets of the weekend will come courtesy of Pink Floyd's Roger Waters. The band's bassist and lyricist will be performing as part of his worldwide 'Dark Side Of The Moon Live' tour, which began in Rio in 2006 and sees him play Pink Floyd's seminal 1973 album in its entirety. Radar stars Yo Majesty, aka rapper Shunda K and singer Jwl B, will be ones to watch this weekend. The 2008 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, to give it its full name, kicks off today at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California.

Winners of the Best Video category at this week's NME Awards USA (for 'D.A.N.C.E.', which was produced by French visual artist So Me), Justice bring the rave to Coachella once again. Their performance last year was a scorcher in the 6pm heat. Here Gaspard and Xavier are pictured at London's Astoria.

Holy Fuck will be hauling their gargantuan collection of keyboards and toy instruments to Coachella this weekend. The band are one of the most famous practitioners of the 'found sound' movement, which involves making music from found instruments, often procured from charity shops or jumble sales.

Quentin Leo Cook, otherwise known as Fatboy Slim, is packing the loud shirts and heading for the desert. He plays tonight (April 25). According to his MySpace page, he's nearly finished his new album, and it boasts a collaboration with Iggy Pop.

The Cool Kids drop into Coachella this Sunday. The hyped hip-hop duo - aka Antoine "Mikey Rocks" Reed and Evan "Chuck Inglish" Ingersoll - have been honing their live show with support slots for MIA, and are set to release their debut album later this year.
