Legendary '90s indie band Pavement released 'Gold Soundz' way back in 1994 before they split in 1999. But they have recently reunited. Bell is optimistic, saying, "They were a key signing for us and now they're coming back. It's exciting to me that so many young bands are getting into them now." Pic: Press

Bell says of Wild Beasts, "I find the idea that such exotic music is being made by a young band in the north of England really inspiring. We should appreciate our strange and beautiful bands." Our track is 'Two Dancers (I)'. Photo: Richard Johnson

"When I saw Franz Ferdinand I knew immediately that they were the band who we were waiting to meet. They had perfect band chemistry," Bell remembers. 'Send Him Away' comes from the band's third album 'Tonight: Franz Ferdinand'. Photo: Tom Oxley

The Kills' 'Sour Cherry' features on our free CD. Bell admits that "they were a very important signing for us - a British band (though Alison Mosshart is American) based in London making very contemporary-sounding rock'n'roll music". Photo: Dean Chalkley

Arctic Monkeys will be touring America from April but in the meantime, we have 'Catapult' to keep us company. "Seeing them for the first time in this little club in Stockton-On-Tees was just extraordinary. It was like seeing a cross between early Who and the Buzzcocks. It just took my head off," raves Bell. 'Faculty Of Fears', from Lightspeed Champion's latest album, was handpicked by Domino Records founder Laurence Bell. He remembers "soon after Test Icicles disintegrated Dev came to me with this album of extraordinary fully-formed pop songs. His new album's an audacious theatrical pop-rock opus". Photo: Ben Roland

'Dreams-Come-True-Girl', featuring vocals from Hollywood legend Karen Black, is the lead track off the yet-to-be-released album from Cass McCombs. Bell tells us, "Cass is going to become one of the key American songwriters of the next couple of decades. When people get into his stuff they become obsessed."

For their new album, Archie Bronson Outfit promises to unveil a new video for each track. 'Shark's Tooth' "is the lead track off their new album and was produced by Tim Goldsworthy from DFA. It's a wild gothic disco track, a great example of a band who are moving ahead in a big way". Wonder what the video will be like.
