Iggy Pop At The Royal Albert Hall: The Best Show Of 2016 To Date

Iggy, backed by Josh Homme and Matt Helders played The Royal Albert Hall on Friday May 13 2016

Iggy Pop, backed by Josh Homme and Arctic Monkeys’ Matt Helders brought his Post-Pop Depression tour to London’s Royal Albert Hall on Friday (May 13). In true Iggy style there was cursing, crowd-mingling and chest flashing in what was to be the final show played together with his new band.

Several songs in, Iggy was in the crowd, emerging with a bleeding face, a slight limp and almost no trousers after wrestling with an overenthusiastic fan.

Pop’s backing band – Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, Dean Fertita and Troy Van Leeuwen with Arctic Monkeys’ Matt Helders on drums – were all dressed in matching Butlins-esque burgundy lounge jackets and put on a rock n’ roll show to remember.
